METRO offers a comprehensive benefits package that supports employees’ health, financial security, and well-being. Benefits begin the first of the month following hire and include medical, dental, and vision coverage with most premiums covered by METRO.

Employees also receive retirement benefits through CalPERS, optional 457(b) savings plans, life and disability insurance, and access to an Employee Assistance Program. Additional perks like discounted programs and voluntary benefits help support a balanced work-life experience.

Employees are eligible for benefits on the first day of the month following the date of hire, unless otherwise noted below.

Medical Insurance: For employees and qualified dependents. Choice between multiple HMO and PPO plans. 95% of the premium rate is paid by METRO. Premium participation continues after retirement.

Dental Insurance: Premium paid by METRO for employees and qualified dependents.

Vision Insurance: Premium paid by METRO for employees and qualified dependents.
